Thespians Auditions for “Nunsense II”

    The Thurmont Thespians will hold open auditions for their upcoming Spring 2009 musical, “Nunsense II(The Second Coming) ”, to be directed by Steve Ross, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, January 4,5 & 6 at the Thurmont St. John’s Lutheran Church Social Hall from 7-9PM. Auditioners are invited to bring a song to sing that is not from the show, be prepared to sing, move, and dance as well as read scenes from the script. Nunsense II will be presented on March 20-23 and 27-29, 2009 at the Thurmont American Legion Auditorium.

    There are five female roles open: Sister Mary Regina, Mother Superior -A feisty overweight Sophie Tucker type who can’t resist the spotlight. Sister Mary Hubert, Mistress of Novices - the second in command, always competing with the Mother Superior. Sister Robert Anne - a street-wise character from Brooklyn and constant source of aggravation for Mother Superior. Sister Mary Amnesia - This nun lost her memory after a crucifix fell on her head. She is very sweet. Sister Mary Leo - the novice, who entered the convent with the firm desire to become the first nun ballerina.

Nunsense II” is a sequel to the “Nunsense” which was presented by the Thurmont Thespians in the spring of 2007. Featured in the original cast were (left to right) Becca Corbell, Chris Smith, Andrea LaBombard , Alyce Luck and Kelli Donaghue
